Handmade Christmas

We've been busy enlisting the help of family and friends for some festive homemade christmas decorations which are in the shop now!

There are handmade papier mache baubles using old/unused (or garish!) christmas decorations- Just a few coats of paper and glue and then a glossy varnished finish. We've also made a very easy brown paper version handpainted in white gouache again using old baubles.

Another old favourite is salt dough for decorations, in this case we used cookie cutters for ease but hand-pressed shapes can be even nicer when they have a flattened rounded edge.

Also printed cards, wrap, hand-knitted christmas stockings, teacup candles, bunting and more baubles. These gorgeous pincushions with vintage buttons made by the talented Felicity Gray

We've had a busy few weeks but back with an update and photos of some of our recent furniture (an eclectic mix!)- some of these pieces have already gone, others are still in the shop. These have all been obtained from auctions, flea markets, car boots you name it- and then mended and painted. Its so satisfying bringing back to life old things with lots of character!

We have a couple more tables in this style with turned legs currently being painted up

First week

We've just come to the end of our first week at Station rd and so pleased with the interest we've had so far. Lots of our furniture has found lovely new homes and we're now busy sanding, painting and waxing new bits and pieces and making up more of our handmade stripey feather cushions. If you have popped in a big thank you for your support and do check back soon as we plan to keep things fresh and interesting with regular new finds!

Here are some of our old stackable farm crates which we think have lots of handy uses (asides from looking great) -for gardening, containers for fruit/veg, even rustic under-bed storage!

Some pretty mismatched china, old tins and retro coronation mugs and beakers. We'll be posting again shortly with some of the new furniture we have in stock.
